Asset Transfer System (ATS) is a collaborative tool that streamlines and simplifies the way that documentation is managed between Airlines and Lessors. ATS incorporates records management, project management and case management abilities all into a single application.
As the player/coach, I led a team that performed all facets of user experience for this tool. Beginning with discovery research, our first goal was to learn what the needs were for an application to optimize the heavily regulated and often cumbersome asset transfer process. To achieve this goal I facilitated design thinking workshops, interviewed many users within lessor and airline organizations and observed the existing process in action. Documentation and bringing insights back to my team of product managers and engineers was critical to ensure we all understood the challenges our audience was facing.
From there we were able to validate the features needed for the tool and iterate on a designs. We communicated our progress throughout the organization at numerous milestones and at the same time we were integrated within the dev team to bring the application to life.
As soon as we had user flows within the application functioning we performed user testing to ensure we were on the right path. I worked with product management and sales to build an advisory board of industry experts to provide feedback and to help guide the product.
In its first year after launch, the tool made more than $4 million in sales. I worked closely with sales to perform demos to prospective clients and also with the implementation team to train users and gather initial feedback.
Degree Map is an invaluable tool that helps students navigate through the often tedious process of degree planning.
If the student is interested in a different field of study, they can use a wealth of degree as well as career data to help them make an informed decision.
As a part of the Degree Map team from the very beginning and the sole ux designer, I was responsible for all aspects of the experience. I performed initial user research, countless rounds of wireframing, even more user testing sessions, and worked very closely with visual design and development to bring our vision to life.
Illume was created to answer the big questions that university presidents and provosts were asking of their student population. Combining all the data we could get our hands on with Civitas' predictive data science, we were able to paint a picture for the user like they had never seen before.
Incorporating data from multiple silos on campus, Illume empowers the user to segment their data however they see fit. Using a robust set of filters they can discover a wealth of insights with just a few clicks.
I worked very closely with executive leadership at Civitas and university partners to drive the execution of Illume. It was a tough nut to crack, mainly because nothing like it existed in the higher education space previously. After months of design thinking exercises and hundreds of wireframes later, Illume emerged as Civitas' flagship application.
Inspire by Civitas Learning is a tool that helps advisors pinpoint who is in need of outreach. Through the use of complex data science, Inspire makes it possible understand the factors influencing each student’s likelihood to persist, and have meaningful, proactive conversations with the students.
My role on the Inspire team was to evolve a beta application that was gaining traction but needed some love. I spoke with the advisors to get a sense of what was working well and what they wished the app could do. I thoroughly researched the market, the users, the problems and used all information gathered to drive the development of an all new application. The new version is now in the hands of hundreds of advisors around the country.
Altius Education set out to build a Learning Management System (LMS) unlike any other. A learning platform that could adapt to the student's abilities. If they were breezing through a course, the material could progressively get more challenging. Alternatively, if the student is struggling with a concept then the content could provide more assistance and examples. A truly revolutionary idea.
My role within Helix LMS was split between UX and front end development. I oversaw the creation of new features, broke them down into HTML/Less and worked with the development team to bring them to life.

Hobsons is a multinational corporation with a suite of products aimed to help students identify their strengths and empower education partners to drive student success.
My role shifted throughout my tenure at Hobsons. I saw the company grow from around 50 people to well over 500. My chief responsibility, however, was to lead the UX of the company's flagship customer relationship management (CRM) software. Working closely with product management and directly with users, I performed a visual redesign, brought the application up to current accessibility standards and lead the creation of many features.
